Safety is both a crime issue and a daily-life issue. People may feel unsafe because of theft, violence, reckless driving, poor lighting, disorder, addiction, domestic conflict, slow emergency response, or mistrust between residents and authorities. People disagree about what safety requires most. Some want more visible policing and faster consequences. Others want prevention, mental-health response, youth programs, environmental design, or stronger community trust. This poll asks what would most improve people’s everyday sense of safety. People deserve to feel safe walking, driving, working, and raising kids. The debate is whether safety comes mostly from enforcement, prevention, trust, or the way communities are built.
